A poem of Spring

Photo by Joanna Huang on Unsplash

Spring began as it always has
The buds awoke
The grass turned green
The trees began their leafy scene
The bees returned to pollinate
The birds as always were never late
You can feel the wind with its warmer breeze
Watch squirrels climb trees with ease
You walk along your favorite path
And hope a Spring shower won’t give you a bath
Folks are fishing
Kids are wishing
Lovers are closer now
Spring’s sprung its magic
It’s beauty
It’s love
There’s no better time
To write words that rhyme.

A Trial of Life

Photo by Joel & Jasmin Førestbird on Unsplash

I seek a new horizon
So far away it seems
I’ll keep on going towards it
I see it in my dreams
The road ahead has stumbles
What road is not this way
I’ll travel with my head up
As I count the coming days
The force that drives me forward
Is like no other now
My legs and arms are tired
I begin to question how
Can I reach this new horizon
Can I find that place I seek
Can I just please heaven up there
Give me a little peek
If I shall fail this journey
If I shall lose this time
I’ll hang my head in sorrow
Then write it in a rhyme.

A Nature Poem

Flowers come and flowers go
Nature guides them through
Though unwillingly they die
Comes the Spring they start a new

Love that’s true finds the way
To never wilt or die
Held together by a truth
And never questions why

All that wander ground and air
Graze and nest and makeup pairs
Prone to all the dangers still
Fight for life until

As the flowers wilt away
So do all that roam this way
Searching every step they pray
To live in peace another day.

A Poem of Love

Photo by Daniel J. Schwarz on Unsplash

What hides between the clouds and sky
Reflecting blue as in your eyes
The air so thick I reach to feel
Is this moment truly real
What lights my dusty window bright
Is it just the ray from the sun’s warm light
Is it just the absence of the dark at night
Or the constant flutter of my heart in flight
The moon starts low as the stars appear
One by one I’m filled with tears
I cannot know what lies in store
Until the sun breaks through once more
I pray as the full moon appears
You’re by my side close and near
To hug and kiss throughout our days
As just we two in our own loving ways.

A Love Poem

Photo by Nick Fewings on Unsplash

I write this day of love to you
For love is how my heart beats true
You are my life my dream come true
When I think within it’s just of you

What else may life bring me this morn
The crack of light that wakes the Dorn
My dreams that were of you last night
Have fled my bed as birds in flight

I pray the night comes soon so I
May hold you close before I die
Beside me in my constant dream
A picture painted loving scene

Please he who makes things right in life
Make her my ever-loving wife
To build and share a family
I promise to keep her safe and free.

A Poem of Life

Photo by Jeremy Bishop on Unsplash

There are moments when we tremble
Fearing unknown casualties
What can’t be seen or touched
In our dreams we reach to clutch
Past knowledge holds the key

Destiny needs help to shape
The future and its fears
Tears that cause us undue pain
Driven by those lost insane
Are washed away with tears

As we protect our ground erect
Where we belong in peace and love
We stand proud and show we’re strong
We sing out loud our battle song
As they watch from above.
