Don’t Let Life Get Away

A poem about life

Slowly let surely
as life gets away
I dream of tomorrow
and lost yesterdays
I want for those moments
when life seemed just right
And I remember those days
that ran into nights
Imagine if you were now
leaving your teens
Imagine if you could change
what life didn’t bring
Imagine if you could
go back to those years
What would you change
or would you have fears
No one my friends
can change what has been
No one not even those
who cheat and who sin
So live every day
as you go forward in life
Live every day
dodging problems and strife
Just play the role
you’ve been dealt through the years
Then promise yourself
not to look back in tears.
