Forever Not To Speak
A poem remembering someone close
The pearls of morning dew
For you my friend they weep
The one that kept us close is gone
Forever not to speak
We’ll hear you in the drops of rain
Those stories from your soul remain
The clouds move on yet you’re still near
We do not fear or chance to be
Without your face in our memory
Without your wit that soothed and calmed
Without your joy that faithful charm
Today we’re still with grief and disbelief
We have no other words
We’ll mark this day forevermore
Until they dig our graves.
