Member-only story
A poem about faith
We run around not grounded
Empty hearted and desponded
Seeking something we never find
Living for some special sign
Fear keeps us from getting close
Those who get to close often boast
You blame the clouds for your rainy days
While you dance around love in every way
You start believing everyone is your foe
God only knowsWhen things look up you won’t conceive
There maybe some light if you just believe
Friends and family want you to achieve
If only you would roll up your sleeves
Prompted by some old man’s words
You rush with hope because you heard
The truth about what life can be
When you reach out you now can see
You feel as if you’re back in tow
God only knowsIf we were just a bush or tree
Or lived in a menagerie
Life would be simpler so we think
As time rushes by in a blink
Who knows for sure is what we query
Through time it’s mostly been a theory
For we as men believe we are in the know
Not like a furry slow animal with three long toes
God only knowsWhy do we scream so loud at times
And often bang on the loudest chimes
Could it be we need people to see us and hear
That we are not shadows lost and in fear
We must find ways to join the new club
We all need friends and guys named Bub
So promise ourselves to reach out and let go
We are here as friends not as challenging foesIn the end when you cash in your chips and your dough
You will finally realize…
God only knows.— WOLRAD
