A Poem of Love
I could use numbers to count the ways
I could remind you of those wonderful days
I could use fancy words that rhyme
Though I’ve said all of that so many times
I could get on my knees
I could say pretty please
I could play loving games and more
Why do I love thee you ask once again
I confessed that I do since we met back when
I confessed you were mine to cherish and love
I confessed you were sent from heaven above
Why do I love thee how can you ask
When all through the years you have put me to task
When no matter the moment you starred in the cast
When since we met I ended my past
These many years have been the best years ever
Without you I am lost searching for words that are clever
Rhyming the reasons to keep you closer to me
That my love is why I love thee.
