How long shall we live to be
To watch the trees and the rolling sea
How long shall we walk the ways
To feel the sun on a summer’s day
How long shall we watch on high
The moon the stars that light the sky
How long shall we see our children grow
To learn and teach what we now know
How long will the days still come
As now we take them one by one
For life has not a proposed time frame
