I Could Write All Day

A poem about hope

I could write all day
If I had good news to portray
If the rain would stop and the clouds went away
If the trees drenched with rain drops
Would once again sway
If it happened that way
I could write all day

I could write all day
If the moon became full
If the last ray of sunlight would just remain still
If the sounds of the day were joyous and gay
If it happened that way
I could write all day

I could write all day
If every child had a meal
That no one would again have to steal
If the world stopped those terrible fights
Sending a message that everything’s right
If that could happen before we start a new day
I could write all day.
