A poem about life

In the blink of an eye
Time passes by
Sometimes we cry
Sometimes we sigh
The moments we cherish
Are gladdened with joy
The ones that bring sadness
Are not to be toyed
So many moments that pile up over the years
Keep our hearts beating with happiness and tears
Still there is nothing better to share
Than the love and the hugs with those that we care
As we celebrate birthdays and anniversaries and births
As we remember those buried deep in the earth
For we can never forget those who came before us
And those who are younger so we put up a fuss
They all need to be noticed and remembered in ways
That turn up each year on their calendar days
May we keep our eyes open and aware he’s above
So we never forget all those we love.
