Member-only story
A birthday poem
In vain so many years had passed
my search for love seemed to ever last
Till you were sent by heaven’s fate
my love by chance upon that date
I search my heart since the day we met
what led you to my empty life
This love that I have cherished
all these years my loving wife
Through laughs and tears
I love you dear
And promise I will always cheer
As we celebrate each year your day
That wanders back in its own way
With candles waiting for your wish
I want it so be me
The last flame flickers then goes out
I pout as my heart pleas
Please god above I love her so
Please let her wish be me.
