Lifes Crowded Stage

We stand upon a crowded stage
The rage of yesterday
Our heads held high
As though the sunlit sky
Is coaxing us to pray
We stumble now as did our plows
That cut through earth and stone
We stood tall and strong
We danced to songs
No need to do men wrong
Today on stage for all to see
We have withered as the old oak trees
That still holds on through winters freeze
And summer’s days with not a breeze
Before we are cut down and put to rest
Our final quest be known
To live a proper joyous life
Means sharing what you own.
