A Poem for Spring
March
You appear with Winter’s roar
the promise of so much more
A cold white blanket of snow and ice
that lingers door to door
We call upon the lamb of Spring
return us back to soft lush green
Fill the trees with birds that sing
let the bees start hovering
Nature you have tested us
with wind and ice and snow
Is it not time to ask the sun
to start the plants to grow
And as you do
we promise you
this time we do declare
We’ll rid the earth
of gas-filled air
so you will know
we care.
