Nature’s Tears

A Poem of Reality

The morning clouds are dark with dust
An orange color that resembles rust
Blown down from forest fires far away
That linger over much our world these days
We cannot change what drifts on through
Not even if it has not a thing with us to do
The constant record heat burns us like a torch
We stay inside so our skin won’t scorch
The changing climate on our Earth
Has seen a tragic change since my birth
With mounting storms and ever-rising tides
Soon there will be no place left for us to hide
Still so many doubting countries won’t abide
Why won’t they listen to what we must do
Before there is nothing left for us to do
We must have air to breathe and food to eat
These are a must they are not fancy treats
Without them all is lost no matter what our station
Without them we are finished regardless of our nation
Nature has tested us in many ways throughout the years
So why do we not heed the signs and stop her tears?
