A Bird Nesting Poem

Photo by Anca Muresan on Unsplash

Have you ever questioned why
Birds build their nests so high
Gazing at the open sky
Have you ever questioned why
Are they seeking to be near
Someone close that shares their fear
To keep them safe from all who prey
On birds who sing throughout the day
Maybe it’s the thinner air
That draws them to those places where
Not a soul can reach or see
Not even those who love as we
Nature may be the only one
Who knows the reason why
The birds can sing and fly so high
And live in places so close the sky.
