The Poets Reason for Writing
Poets are compelled to find expression
In thoughts and dreams and locked up things
Desires searching for words to explain
Visions of scenes that need be reclaimed
Having no reason to haste in the chase
Using their senses of touch smell and taste
The poet creates as many a chef
Tasting until no questions are left
Constantly stirring the pot till it boils
Never regretting the chore of the toil
They know when it’s finished and ready for print
They know for their hearts say they’re through
Now all they can do is leave judgment to you
What else can the Poet do?
