Politicians Are No Fun

Political Poem

Soon we will enter the voting booth to choose
The better of a few who don’t want to lose
They are cunning and bright
They put up a fight
Still how do we decide they will do the job right
Politicians don’t know where to draw the line
Every Party has committed some major crime
The ones who decree “You must listen to me!”
Are just feeding us line after line
We know that they all tell us lies
As they stand there on stage and cry
“Listen to me this is the way it should be!”
With a smile on their faces
That claim they want the best for all Races
To have the same and to live in prosperity
Black or White is the same when the light
Is turned off and there’s no one to see
Our thoughts are the same
We all want to be in the game
The way “He” designed it to be
Let’s all grab a hand
Let there be no one-man bands
Let life for all be as grand and as free
When we do
I promise you
That all but a few
We’ll find one voice and live happily
So let’s work hard for the best
Wear signs on our chest
Vote the ones for our nest
That will be
Someone who is fair
Who looks out and cares
Won’t threaten or dare
And for sure keep us free.
