Remembering My Mom

A Mother’s Day Poem

My mother is gone forty years today
Half of my life almost to the day
So many memories of her are lingering still
So many moments that bring on chills
Stories I’ve written to recall her bright smile
Begin back eighty years when I was a child
I never felt lonely when she was around
This woman of grace I perceived with a crown
She always made sure I was fed and kept warm
Holding me close through so many storms…
