The Life of a Two-Year-Old
This is the tenth in a series of my original Shakespearean Sonnets. Each of the 14 lines is ten syllables long, rhyming every other line and finishing with a two-line couplet that will bring together the theme of the sonnet and will also rhyme.
A toddler’s life is one of joy and play
With boundless energy to run and roam
Each moment seems they find a new display
Of wonder and excitement all their ownThey wake each day with bright and shining eyes
To see the world with curious delight
As they explore and learn to improvise
And test their limits with a toddler’s mightThe world is theirs to conquer and explore
With toys and games that fill their daily need
Every little thing becomes a chore
As they learn to crawl, walk, run, and succeedHow sweet the life a two-year-old at play
With joy and laughter lighting up their day.
