A poem for Spring

The calendar claims Spring is here
So why’s the weather still here and there
One day it’s warm the next day cold
My bones want warm I’m getting old
The trees still bare no leaves have shown
The ground where flowers every year have grown
Are waiting for Nature to do her trick
To begin to wave her magic stick
We know for sure Spring will soon be here
To cleanse the air with all that we hold dear
To fill our heads with a flowery perfume scent
To give us hope as if heaven sent
And to remind us all once again it’s true
Nature will start Spring when Winter is through.
