A 70th Birthday Poem

From the land of shores and endless waves
Where you always fought to behave
As a Jersey Girl now seventy years
Recalls a life filled with love without fears
Through golden sunsets and a salty breeze
You danced with joy always with ease
Your heart a beacon of strength and grace
Always guiding others to their right place
Within Jersey’s embrace you found a home
Where laughter echoes and spirit’s roam
From boardwalk strolls to summer’s delight
Your spirit shined forever bright
Through changing seasons you’ve weathered storms
With resilience and courage, your heart moved on
Like the relentless tides that flow day and night
You conquered life turning dark to light
You’re a Jersey Girl with a spirit free
You’ve navigated life’s vast boundless sea
With laughter and joy and a soothing calm
A testament to New Jersey where you come from
As you blow out the candles seventy strong
We will sing your praises in a joyous song
A lifetime of memories carved in your soul
Of our Jersey Girl’s journey still to unfold.
