The Morning Fog

The morning air is filled with mist
Kissed by the fog that soon will rise
The sky is still and cloudless grey
I yearn to see the light of day
Slivers of sunlight peer through
To melt away the morning dew
I stare at an image that passes my way
It is he now gone nine months this day
A lump within my throat remains
Time goes on it will not be tamed
We were a pair my bro and I
We laughed and sometimes even cried
Such was the day our mother died
How strange life is one day you are here
The next day you are gone somewhere
To that place we will never know
Yet someday we all must go
To think that I can conjure him
At times when I am missing him
To see him there upon a log
As the sun burns through the morning fog.
