Trees and Me

A poem about Life

Through time a tree expands and grows
Within its rings there’s much to know
When it began to start its climb
How does it know to spread its leaves on-time
It faces east or north or west
It has no needs or has to guess
In winter it’s home to creatures large and small
They bend their leaves when the rain falls
They give off air so we humans can breathe
They do so through their shapely green leaves
