A Year To Remember Poem
What would they say today?
They passed away one year ago this day
Would they believe
How Covid-19 brought the world to its knees
Could they conceive
A US president would launch an attack in a crazy way
On the government, he pledged every day
To protect in any way
What would they say today? What would they do?
If the places they knew
Were closed up for good
Witnessed riots in the hood
Watch as police stopped protecting our goods
What would they do?It’s for sure all we know
Who left us one year ago
Are not sorry they missed this hell of a year
As we look back at all those fears
Our hearts are heavy with tears
Our Brothers/Sisters/Husbands/Fathers/Mothers
we're not here to share.
