Whatever It Takes

I used to study new found things
Now old problems have changed my ways
Yesterday I never dreamed
The way I’d feel today
I learned to line-up all those pills I take
How to stretch first thing so I won’t ache
How to remember one thought to the next
How to learn all those cell phone tricks
and how to text
I think I’m getting better
though I’m not sure just where I’m at
At times I can’t remember
was it this or was it that
If only they would make a pill
I’d welcome the new monthly bill
Whatever it takes I’m in all the way
That is my sacred promise
till my final judgment day.
